“Follow the Energy”

One of my favourite sayings is “follow the Energy”.

It’s a very descriptive prescription for living in the moment.

Let’s face it, on the whole we’ve been conditioned to be problem solving beings. Now I hear you saying, what’s wrong with that? Isn’t it positive to face problems head-on and find solutions?

And the answer of course would be –Yes!

If a problem materialises in your world, you need to take care of it. Avoidance, and “heading for the hills” is certainly not what I’m advocating.

But when you understand “vibration” –an age old concept now firmly grounded in Quantum Physics- you understand you can only “attract” that which is of a matching or similar vibration.
We’re like magnets. Physics 101 tells us that a positive end of a magnet will be instantly repelled by a negative end. Just like that, the mind will seek out similar thoughts like a heat seeking missile, raising either the positive or negative in intensity. Shortly after, seemingly “outside” events will be drawn into your reality that match those vibrations.

When you feel a low vibration or energy it’s a real good indicator you need to change direction and re-address your focus.

Usually you’ll find there’s an equally opposing force that will take you to a higher vibration if you focus on it. That is what “following the energy” is all about.

Do you try to make “things” work ignoring the way you feel? Do you keep working 8 hours a day a t a job you can’t stand because you “have” to pay the bills?
What if you awoke everyday with an attitude and intention of discovering new opportunities and living a miraculous day? What if you took the time to discover your true passions and find a way to turn them into money making opportunities?

Over the next few posts we’re going to look at the science of “following the energy” and some of the metaphysical processes you can use to make this work for you.

Remember: what you think about, you bring about.

On that note I’m going to leave you with a process from the Abraham-Hicks Law of Attraction series that can stop the downward spiral of negativity and low vibration inducing thoughts. With practice this will spin you around into a complete 180-degree turn helping you rise on the positive updraft to higher energy thoughts and feelings.

Pivoting Process

Depending on your default setting (either predominantly negative or predominantly positive) this will either be a relatively difficult or easy exercise to adopt. Like anything, practice through consistent and persistent daily activity will make this a habit until one day you do this without thinking about it.

The Process of Pivoting is a very subtle way of changing your downward spiral of thoughts. It requires you to be conscious of where your thoughts are leading you and say to yourself: Where are these thoughts leading me? Are they lowering or raising my vibration? Start by asking yourself – What is it that I want? Mostly you’ll answer that you want to feel good. It’s very important to purposely choose better feeling thoughts. What is good about your experience? Look for things that make you feel better. Sometimes the simplest things are the best. What is good about this very moment? The warmth of the Sun, the birds singing, the good cup of coffee you’re drinking, how grateful you are for your job, to have wonderful friends and family in your life. If we think about it, we can usually find numerous things to be grateful and happy about. It also snaps you back into the Present, which is real point of power.

This process brings another powerful attractor into your sphere – gratitude. Remember it is impossible to attract a positive, with a negative. And it is also impossible to hold a negative and a positive thought in your mind at the same time.

Once you get into the habit of looking for thoughts that make you feel good you’ll find that they start to attract stronger feeling thoughts which can rocket your vibration up. This is something that is best developed over time as a habit.

If you have a problem that you would like to solve, pivoting can help you develop solution based thinking. Ask what is right about this situation? How can I turn this problem around? What would it take to make this right? A lot of the time we beat ourselves up unnecessarily when we could just as easily turn the situation around through constructive thinking, and choosing better feeling thoughts. It gives you more energy to take action.

But don’t take my word for it. Try it! Try it for 30 days with deliberate consistency and see what changes you make in your overall attitude. It may astound you :) .
